Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid
Another popular option that can be a good option if you want to undertake a car comparison with the Cadillac Escalade is the Chevy Tahoe Hybrid. This is a top choice with families, due to the array of child-friendly entertainment options and spacious storage area. The Chevy Tahoe can fit eight passenge
rs and can tow a load weighing up to 6,200 pounds. It features a top of the line entertainment system, including a Bose sound system with nine speakers, a USB port, satellite radio, and an overhead DVD system to keep your kids quiet in the backseat. All of these are features that you would see in the regular Chevy Tahoe. The hybrid version offers a 21 mpg combined city and highway fuel economy, which is a good 30% improvement over the original Tahoe.
VW Touraeg Hybrid
A new offering from Volkswagen, the Touareg Hybrid is the German auto manufacturer’s first gas-electric hybrid SUV. It combines an electric motor with a 3.0-litre V-6 engine, using the same technology as the Audi Q7. SUV reviews of the 2012 Touareg Hybrid note its power, ease of navigation, and high towing capacity of 7,700 pounds. It can seat five passengers, making it a bit smaller than the other hybrids described above. Interior features in
clude climate control, heated seats, a touch-screen navigation system, and stability control. One unique feature of the Touareg Hybrid is that its batteries are stored under the cargo floor area, which leaves more room for storage. It offers 20 mpg, making it top of the line in terms of fuel economy.
These are just three of the options out there for those interested in driving a hybrid SUV. As consumers continue to demand improved hybrid technology, you can expect to see a boom in hybrid vehicles in the near future.
