If you’re like me, you think a car is a piece of art on its own. However, there are plenty of ways to showcase your love for a particular automobile without having it tattooed on your forearm (although that’s perfectly acceptable, too). Plenty of artists can capture the joy you feel when driving a Camaro or Thunderbird on canvas, and each piece varies in price depending on size, detail of work, feasibility, and deadline. Of course, plenty of artists have a portfolio of existing work you can choose from at a possibly lower price, if you like a certain type of car but don’t necessarily need a custom piece.
Whether it’s a new Lamborghini that’s caught your fancy, or your dad’s 1967 Charger that’s been in the family for three generations, a piece of car art is a great way to display how much you love your favorite rolling iron. You can get automotive art in canvas form, or display a lovingly hand-crafted statuette or sculpture. Either way, your car art should show the world just how much you care about a certain car.
One piece of automotive art I’d like to buy in the near future is a print, etching, or painting of my boyfriend’s old 1960 Mini Cooper. He doesn’t have it anymore, but he loved it when he did, so I’d love to have a painting of his first and favorite project car for him to hang on his wall. For that matter, I’d love to have one for myself–not of the Mini, but of my beloved 300zx that I couldn’t afford to keep. I loved that car and I’m sad I never got to race her. Even though she went to a good home, I’d really like a painting of her to hang on the wall.
Whether you have a favorite car, or just like attractive art to hang on the wall, a car artist will be able to create something you’ll love. You can create beautiful hand-painted gifts for the car enthusiast in your life, or build a collection of famous muscle cars. If it were me, I’d start with a Mustang Shelby Cobra.
